A Celebration of Spanish Music

The Klavier Music Association Inc presents A Celebration of Spanish Music- an evening concert featuring Spanish music for the guitar, the piano and the 'cello as well as a few Spanish songs. This concert will be held at The Ivory Room, a newly established house concert venue in the heart of Wanniassa and features performances by several accomplished Canberra musicians who are helping the association in this fundraiser to help encourage young musicians in the area of musical performance. Some of the music included in the program is by the Spanish composers Albeniz, Granados, and Turina and also includes a spanish-style "habanera" by Ravel. The Performers include Robert Schmidli (piano), Giselle Roberts (piano), Alan Hinde (piano); Andrew Fraser; Marian Budos (guitar) and Ivana Troselj (vocals); Sam Roberts (guitar); Megan Taylor ('cello). Please check for further updates and a full program closer to the event. A Supper of Spanish cuisine (savory and sweet) along with drinks will be served after the concert. With the upcoming Spanish National Day on October 12, this is a sweet introduction to the Spanish festivities that will begin a week after this concert.
