Two of Brisbanes most exciting folk acts are teaming up for a one-night-only double album launch at Leftys. Expect sharp musicianship, strong songwriting, and a night that moves between attentive listening and full-blown dancing.
The Inadequates are an award-winning trio known for their fast picking, tight harmonies and playful humour. With, mandolin, guitar and accordion, their sound is acoustic, intricate and packed with character. Their songs are clever and offbeat without losing heart, and their live show has built a cult following across the folk festival scene.
Amaidi twist traditional Irish, Scottish and Australian folk into something bold and groove-driven. With fiddle, piano accordion, guitar and banjo, they blend driving tunes and original songs with big bass and tight arrangements. Their name means nonsense in Gaelic, which sums up the energy and joy they bring to every set.
Two bands. Two albums. One night to catch it all.
