Two pillars of Melbournes punk and melodic hardcore scene of the early 2000s are joining forces

for a co-headline once-only party that reads like the line-up on your favourite Arthouse flyer.

Long-time mates Away From Now and Horsell Common will co-headline Stay Gold on Thursday 25

September 2025 joined by very special guests and riff masters Faux Defeated.

Away From Now Blackout finally on wax

Formed in 2000, Away From Now earned their stripes sharing stages with international favourites

including Rise Against, Hot Water Music, Propagandhi, Strike Anywhere as well as all of Australias

best punk and hardcore bands.

To honour the 20th anniversary of their seminal debut album Blackout, which saw relentless hooks,

catchy melodies, and powerful vocals, backed up with high-energy shows across the country when

first released in 2005, the band has remastered the album with original producer Sam Johnson and

pressed it to vinyl for the first time.

Two limited-edition variants are currently available through Pee Records, complete with updated

artwork and front-man Luke Wilsons track-by-track liner notes. Expect a loud and energetic

performance that made them a Melbourne favourite.

Horsell Common three decades strong

High-school mates Mark Stewart, Luke Cripps and Leigh Pengelly clock 30 years together this

September. From 2007s breakthrough The Rescue to countless sweat-soaked tours, Horsell

Common remain a cornerstone of Australias alt-rock landscape. Their anniversary set will span the

early EPs, cult classics and the anthems that kept mosh-pits moving for three decades.

.....

Blackout on vinyl at last, and a room full of mates who were there from day one couldnt ask for

a better 20th anniversary party, says Away From Now vocalist Luke Wilson.

Thirty years of the same three blokes making noise together? Thats either love or stubbornness

probably both, laughs Horsell Commons Mark Stewart.
