BANDCAMP, the Gold Coasts only full-day industry intensive for emerging musicians, returns in 2025 with a new format, new speakers and new connections!

Presented by the Gold Coast Music Network, BANDCAMP is designed to give emerging musicians and artists a leg up in their career an opportunity to explore their goals for the future, gain industry knowledge to help jumpstart their career, and make valuable connections with peers and industry professionals.

This year, were mixing things up with a brand new format, with keynote speakers, hands-on industry workshops, small group breakout sessions, speed networking with industry professionals and dedicated sessions for young musicians.

Book early as places are limited and BANDCAMP will sell-out!

 
BANDCAMP 2025 SCHEDULE:

8.30am: Arrival

9.00am: Introduction & Icebreakers

9.30am: Keynote Speaker + Q&A
Hear from Gold Coast singer/songwriter, producer, multi-GCMA winner and star-on-the-rise, Lyric, in a keynote welcome followed by Q&A.

10.30am-11.00am: Morning Tea

11.00am-12.30pm: BREAKOUT SESSION #1 - Choose from one session below:
  • Business of Music - Facilitated by Kirsty Abrahams (Konnection Artist Assistance, musician & lecturer, JMC Academy)
  • Marketing 101 - Everything you need to know about branding and developing your identity, social media, PR, merchandise, communication, audience engagement, EPKs and consistency. Faclitated by Gold Coast singer-songwriter and creative, Sunny Luwe.
  • Speed Networking: Session 1 - Make connections and pitch your music to venues, industry professionals and reps from industry bodies like City of Gold Coast, APRA AMCOS, Support Act, QMusic and more. Booking required for this session.
  • Youth Development - Business of Music (for attendees under 16) - Facilitated by Brad Hosking (Producer and musician, Blind Boy Studios & Lecturer, SCU and TAFE QLD)
12.30pm-1.30pm: Lunch

1.30-2.30pm: BREAKOUT SESSION #2 - Choose from one session below:
  • Business of Music - Facilitated by Brad Hosking (Producer and musician, Blind Boy Studios & Lecturer, SCU and TAFE QLD)
  • The Gig Guide - Hear from Brad Hinds (Oztix & East West Presents) about booking gigs, understanding venues and festivals, and how to score showcases and manage relationships.
  • Speed Networking: Session 2 - Make connections and pitch your music to venues, industry professionals and reps from industry bodies like City of Gold Coast, APRA AMCOS, Support Act, QMusic and more. Booking required for this session.
  • Youth Development - Branding and Identity (for attendees under 16) - Facilitated by Gold Coast musician Sunny Luwe

2.30-3.30pm: BREAKOUT SESSION #3 - Choose from one session below:
  • Business of Music - Facilitated by Brad Hosking (Producer and musician, Blind Boy Studios & Lecturer, SCU and TAFE QLD)
  • The Release Cycle - Learn the ins and outs of releasing music, getting it heard and getting it played.
  • Speed Networking: Session 3 - Make connections and pitch your music to venues, industry professionals and reps from industry bodies like City of Gold Coast, APRA AMCOS, Support Act, QMusic and more. Booking required for this session.
  • Youth Development - Career and Education Pathways (for attendees under 16) - Speaker panel + Q&A, facilitated by Gold Coast Music Network
3.30-4.00pm: Afternoon Tea
4.00-5.00pm: Action planning & Closing panel


Speed networking sessions: You can only book in for one speed networking session and you must make your selection at the time of booking. Youll have 5 minutes to network with industry experts. As well as hearing from them about their area of expertise, youll also have a few minutes to pitch yourself and your music (or ask questions), so come prepared.

BANDCAMP FAQs:

What are Youth Development sessions?
The Youth Development sessions are for all BANDCAMP participants under 16 years of age. These sessions are designed specifically for young musicians and cover all the key areas of kick-starting your music career.  All participants over 16, and past BANDCAMP participants, are welcome to attend the other open sessions.

Do I need to book in for a speed networking session?
Pre-bookings are required for the speed networking sessions and places are limited per session. You can only book in for one speed networking session and you must make your selection at the time of booking.

Who are the Business of Music sessions for?
We recommend all BANDCAMP attendees participate in one Business of Music session during the day. Business of Music covers all the fundamentals of successfully managing your music career and business.
