This is an incredibly rewarding hands-on course in a very small class format (usually 3 or 4 students per group), ensuring you the ultimate in guidance and care throughout your guitar building journey.

Where is this held?
The Guitar Building Course is held in the charming workshop of Gourley Music, located in Cottles Bridge. This is an inspiring space, where you can be immersed in creativity and inspiration.
Do I have a choice in materials and design?
Absolutely! We have some incredible Australian woods for you to choose from, plus plenty of options to offer you on design and special features that really personalise your guitar. After something unique? We'll find it and help you create it!
Is there parking on-site?
Yes, plenty of free parking is available on the large driveway of this property.
What facilities are on-site?
We have tea / coffee facilities provided and there is a fridge and microwave available to use. Toilets are available on-site too (in the main building). Please bring your lunch.
What about safety?
We take safety very seriously and have a detailed induction process for all participants, which covers many important and useful points. At each stage and with each piece of equipment you use, we are there to guide you, supervise and ensure the greatest level of care.
What if I need more time?
No worries! We have special day rates for our course participants who would like to extend their time to complete other projects.
Is the workshop heated / air-conditioned?
Yes! Our workshop has a split system to keep us cosy in any weather.
Is there disabled access?
This is a rural property with gravel paths so if you have any special needs or queries, could you please call us on 0433 035 451 so we can look after you.
Is a payment plan available?
Yes, we do offer a payment plan which includes a deposit on booking, and the remainder of the fees split over three equal monthly payments. Please give us a call to chat about this great option.
When does the course run?
This course runs every Saturday for 12 weeks, from 10am to 5.30pm.

In the beautiful leafy suburbs of Hurstbridge is a spectacular custom-built musical instrument workshop called Gourley Music.
Here a handful of bespoke craftsmen, guided by leading technician and owner, Brend Bunte, undertake the service and care for your musical instruments.
We build, service, tune and repair pianos, guitars, violins and other related instruments.
Brend is the heartbeat of everything that happens at Gourley Music. He has a passion for musical instruments, and for helping people a brilliant combination which results in outstanding customer satisfaction.
His love for music and his Associate Degree in Precision Engineering/Tool Making, has given Brend the unique ability to maintain and build musical instruments. After decades of repairing and building guitars, he established his courses and now has students travelling from around Australia, and even around the world, to attend his courses.
Brend studied Piano Tuning and has established himself as the preferred service technician for many leading instrument brands.
Along with exceptional craftsmanship and technical skills, Brend has a warm and generous character, which makes him approachable and relied upon for significant advice.
In 2020, the ambitious project began to build a custom workshop to service and repair musical instruments, and deliver musical instrument building courses.
While collecting skills in French Polishing, Brend added a custom-build spray booth to his workshop facilities.
This exceptional facility is a testament to the skill and care with which Brend operates, and offers outstanding musical instrument care and support.
