Sydneys Dave Favours & The Roadside Ashes return to Melbourne to launch their third LP, Service Station Chicken. Catch them at the Bendigo Hotel in Collingwood on Sunday, March 1. The album is easily the most realised in the bands career and is the perfect showcase for their unique blend of Oz indie rock meets twangy alternative country. According to Favours, Ive always loved albums that dont subscribe to any particular style. Were often put in the alt-country pigeonhole because at times we have acoustic guitars and pedal steel theres dobro and violin on this record as well. But we also pride ourselves in being able to deliver four-on-the-floor rocknroll some call it cowpunk. A Friday or Saturday night gig can have a very different feel to a Sunday afternoon show and were always mixing it up. I wanted this album to represent that. Very special guests on the night are local heroes, Honk, a band born from a love of heritage country music, spaghetti western drinking songs, double denim and the Australian independent music scene.
Toe-Tapping, Foot-Stomping, Knee-Slapping, Country-Rocking that'll have you humming away all night long!
