Durufle's Requiem

One of the undisputed masterpieces of the choral repertoire, Durufle's Requiem is an exquisitely beautiful and poignant reflection on life. Allow your spirit to soar with the delicate vocal harmonies. Like Faure, Durufle omitted certain portions of the original Requiem text. He excised most of the highly dramatic Dies Irae (Day of Wrath) but like Faure, repeated the gentle Pie Jesu, which became the achingly beautiful mezzo soprano solo.

We'll be accompanied by Heather Boyd on organ with the sound beautifully enhanced by the accoustics of St Finbar's Church in Glenbrook.
