A showcase of woman in blues on Saturday at the Arts Centre

Fiona Boyes has been recording for more than 25 years[1] and tours regularly in Australia, the United States, and Europe. She was part of the Australian female Blues band, The Mojo's, in the 1990s alongside Annie Packer, Gina Woods, Kaz Dalla Rosa and Paula Dowes. Boyes released her debut studio album, Blues in My Heart in 2000. In 2003, she won the solo/duo category at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee.

Boyes' debut US release Lucky 13 was nominated by the Blues Foundation in Memphis, Tennessee for the 2007 Blues Music Awards, 'Contemporary Blues Album of the Year'. She has since received three further BMA nominations for 'Traditional Female Blues Artist' (2010), 'Acoustic BluesAlbum of the Year' (2009), 'Contemporary Female Blues Artist' (2008),and her 2008 release Live From Bluesville won the US Blues Critics Award for Best Live Blues Album. Boyes has also received 15 national recording and performance awards in Australia.

Minnie Marks is not just some blazingly electrified guitar playing freak of nature. She is also a rare and triple threat: Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.

Relentlessly gigging across the globe, equipped with an old Goldtop in her hands and a revolutionary Farmer Foot Drum at her feet; Marks consistently pushes musical limits with her mind-blowing, dynamic guitar wizardry and her insanely powerful voice, that roars out her truth through song as if her own life depended on it. And, if thats not enough, simultaneously, creates bone marrow shaking grooves with spare limbs on her Foot Drum kit. Finally all three beasts are married together to forge a mammoth sized wall of sound.

From winning the world renowned Bluesfest Busking Competition in 2011, to taking out the Peoples Choice Award at both Blues At Bridgetown and Nannup Music Festival, plus earning the winning place of Best Guitarist for the Open Arms Festival competition, Marks is no stranger on the block.

LilG, is a rising Australian guitar prodigy who has captivated audiences with her extraordinary talent and deep-rooted passion for blues and surf rock. Born and raised on the Central Coast of New South Wales, she began her musical journey in 2019 at the age of seven. Despite her youth, Lil G has been described as having an "old soul," a quality reflected in her expressive playing style and mature musical sensibilities.

Her influences span a wide array of legendary musicians, including the "Three Kings" (B.B., Albert, and Freddie), Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy, and Bonnie Raitt. Lil G's performances are characterized by a blend of high-energy blues and retro surf rock, drawing comparisons to the sounds of The Shadows and The Ventures.

Lil G's hard work has not gone unnoticed; she has performed alongside notable artists like Nathan Cavaleri and has been featured in events such as the Youth in Blues Talent Spectacular in Canberra.
