Julien Wilson lives Northcote adjacent with his family, Yoshi the dog, a menagerie of percussion instruments and an overgrown courtyard garden. This is a far cry from the good old days / bad old days in Fitzroy when he shared a run down terrace house with a soul singing autonomous mum, a candyman and a courtesan. Over the last 3 decades he has traipsed the country (and a few others) with a variety of bands, raconteurs, misfits and deviants. He currently runs a bespoke local jazz record label (at great personal expense), tours with a Canadian/Australian jazz quartet and a legacy punk band, plays festivals when he can get away from his teaching jobs (which he loves), runs a number of  his own bands and plays with his good mates whenever he can. Julien plays the saxophone most days and is recently committed to Aspiring to Average, but due to an underlying and sadly incurable overly ambitious condition he has been afflicted with since a young age, he often hires musicians who are many levels beyond him the hope that it will make him sound much better than he actually is. On this occasion, Sydneys Prince of guitar Carl Dewhurst will be joining him to play some standards + a mystery guest.
