Former Stevie Wright, Jim Keays and Band of Friends (Rory Gallaghers band) singer/guitarist Gwyn Ashton returns to the stage and studio with his first full band album in 12 years, titled Grease Bucket.
In December 2025 Grease Bucket made it to #8 on The Australian Blues & Roots Top 100 Chart, was Album of The Month on radio stations in France and Germany and has glowing reviews from rock press globally including Classic Rock Magazine (UK, Germany and Czechia), Blues Matters (UK) and Blues Rock Review (USA).
Still promoting his previous single Get Outta Town, recorded with Guns N Roses guitarist Richard Fortus, Ashton has recruited his Australian band comprising bassist Brenton Firth and powerhouse drummer Disco Dave Hammond. This pair are a rock-solid rhythm section and a great foundation for Ashtons uncompromising guitar skills and songwriting.
Over the years Ashton has had multiple Tracks of The Week in the UKs Classic Rock Magazine with guests Don Airey (Deep Purple), Neil Murray (Whitesnake), Robbie Blunt (Robert Plant) and Rory Gallaghers band. Guitar Parts Magazine voted him at third place as Guitarist of The Year, behind Jeff Beck and Gary Moore, with Izzy Stradlin at #5.
European-based Ex Virgin Records recording artist Gwyn Ashton has played shows with BB King, Buddy Guy, Ray Charles, Peter Green, Van Morrison, Hubert Sumlin (Howlin Wolf), Mick Taylor, Status Quo, The Yardbirds, Slade, Robin Trower, Steve Hackett, Wishbone Ash, The Troggs, Johnny Winter, Rory Gallagher, Junior Wells and more. He has been invited onstage to jam with Mick Fleetwood, Canned Heat, Walter Trout, Elliot Randall (Steely Dan) and has an acoustic duo with Marc Ford (Black Crowes, Lucinda Williams, Ben Harper).
