Michael Day, the indie existential folk/roots artist known for tongue-in-cheek lyricism and folk storytelling, is hitting the road this October & November to celebrate the release of his latest A/B single, Shadows and Shapes (out August 26) and Scars (out September 30).
As part of the tour, Michael is bringing something extra special to The Old Midland Courthouse: an intimate under-18 all ages show featuring live performance, a Q&A, and special guests. This one-off event is designed for the younger community a chance to experience live music in a safe, inspiring space and connect directly with the artist.
Shadows and Shapes is an existential track that asks, Whats the point of all this? balancing struggle and hope with layered textures of guitar, banjo, and haunting vocals. Produced by Andy Lawson (Debaser Studio) and mastered by William Bowden (King Willy), the track leans into a moody, reflective aesthetic while carrying forward Michaels trademark storytelling style.
Since sharing the stage with Boy & Bear, Michael has found renewed passion for performing a fire that fuels this regional and national tour. From WA through to Victoria and Queensland, audiences can expect heartfelt folk storytelling, dark beauty, and an authentic connection to the music.
