Join us for the annual cannabis law reform rally and gathering in the heart of Nimbin. MardiGrass started in 1992 when half the village turned up on May 1st to march on the copshop after some hippy communes got yet again terrifying helicopter raids. It was a powerful protest against unjust drug laws and a vibrant celebration of counter-culture, community, and the many uses of cannabisfrom medicinal and industrial to recreational and spiritual. We had such a good day standing up to their bullying we vowed to do it every year until we are no longer criminals for growing our own medicine.
What to Expect:
Your ticket purchase is crucial to the continuation of MardiGrass. This all-inclusive "Golden Bud Pass" provides entry to all official MardiGrass events for the entire weekend.

- The Sunday Protest Rally & Parade: Is now an iconic procession through the village, complete with the giant "Big Joint" and the Ganja Faeries. This is where we make our voices heard and stand together for change.
- Saturday's Kombi Konvoy: followed by the 420 Blaze is a highlight, always hoping to break the world record for the most joints lit at once.
- Hemp Olympix: Witness the unique and hilarious competitions that have become a MardiGrass tradition. Cheer on competitors in the Joint Rolling competitions, Bong Throwing, Correct Weight, Dealers Nightmare and the legendary Growers Ironperson Event.
- Hemposium: Educate yourself at our talks and panels running all weekend in several venues. Learn about the latest in cannabis science, law reform, psychedelic therapy, and the medicinal and many other uses of the hemp plant.
- Live Music & Entertainment: Enjoy a diverse range of music, comedy, and performances across multiple stages, as well as the MardiGrass Markets, the Suppositorium, Stoned Chess, Hemp Fashion Show, Pot Poetry and more.
