On September 7th, Meanjin five-piece
Quinn are bringing their angsty, heart-on-sleeve brand of shoegaze to Blute's for the first time. They will be joined by
Supermodel and
Catchcry- this is not a show you will want to miss.
From Meanjin,
Quinn can be described with a few genres- alt, shoegaze, emo- but nothing ever really paints the full picture. With music that ranges from lush, and contemplative to angsty, and roaring- Quinn's music is as earnest as they come. Formed in March of 2025, the lineup consists of Dane Gibson (vox/guitar), Joe Vine (bass), Adrian Almas (drums), Seamus Kenny (guitar), and Klaire Ren (guitar/synth).
Supermodel is a Meanjin-based group made up of members Tom Lawrence (vocals/guitar), Ben Murray (lead guitar), Freddie Barker-Re (drums) and Oscar Nicholson (bass). They debuted in May of 2025, toeing the line between post-punk, alternative, groove, and jangle pop with a tight set of originals exhibiting seamless variety.
Catchcry is a 5-piece alternative rock, rock pop-esque band, hailing from Brisbane. ALIBI blends an explosion of high-energy and electrifying music, while serving honest & impassioned lyricism (with a cheeky edge). Catchcry has been likened to Paramore & Wolf Alice; their sound, however, is continually evolving with the growth of their dynamic front-woman Alex Haynes. Completed by the talents of Tyler Castles, Tannum Portelli, Leigh Thomas & Henry Schultz, Catchcry is a collision of driven & dreamy sounds, burning with passion.
