Shannon Bourne Band plays the Barwon Club on Saturday 8th November joined by special guest Jack Meredith for a night of Blues, Rock & Roots.
Shannon Bourne is a revered Australian guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer whose expressive playing and deep musicality have made him a standout figure in the blues and roots scene. Known for his soulful tone and improvisational flair, Bourne has carved out a career both as a solo artist and a sought-after collaborator.
As frontman of the Shannon Bourne Band, hes released acclaimed albums including Dark Things and Words Fail, showcasing his raw emotional depth and cinematic songwriting. His solo work blends blues, rock, and ambient textures, earning praise for its originality and intensity.
Bourne has performed with legends like Chris Wilson, Russell Morris, Broderick Smith, The Black Sorrows, and internationally with Duke Robillard, Tony Joe White, and The Waifs. His guitar work features prominently on Russell Morriss ARIA-winning blues trilogy Sharkmouth, Van Diemens Land, and Red Dirt, Red Heart.
A longtime member of the Melbourne blues band Checkerboard Lounge, Bourne also plays guitar for Don Walker of Cold Chisel, bringing his signature depth and grit to Walkers live shows and recordings.
In 2023, Shannon Bourne was honoured with the Blues Music Victoria Peoples Choice Blues Legend Award, a testament to his enduring impact and the admiration he commands from fans and peers alike.
