SOUL SUNDAYS 19 OCT @thepresynct (Nambour) brings you an afternoon of soul, groove and live music with Buttercats (Melbourne), Rosa Mack, Chucho Bruno & Abstract Human Radio. Doors open at 3pm with DJ Eco-Tone (YNR), followed by live bands from 59pm.
With nods to acts like Parcels and Jungle, Buttercats rise beyond the underground scene, punching well above their weight in both production and performance. Their sound is a sensual, R&B-infused take on alternative Australian indie, carried by expansive pop-soul arrangements designed to captivate dancefloors of every size. In 2025, theyll take this energy on the road for their biggest national tour to date. With a stacked lineup of incredible artists joining them along the way, the Buttercats International World Tour promises an electrifying spectacle at every stoop.
Rosa Mack is a powerhouse vocalist, songwriter, and poet who has carved out a lasting presence in Brisbanes music scene. Fronting her explosive 9-piece rock/soul bandwith standout performances at Woodford Folk Festival (2022) and Bluesfest (2025)she also shines as a core member of neo-soul collectives Menajerie and Sixth of the Sun. Rosa wields commanding vocals, sharp songwriting, and a magnetic, grounded stage presence. Drawing inspiration from Brittany Howard and Amy Winehouse, her music explores resilience, vulnerability, and strengthdelivered with raw honesty and undeniable femme grace.
Chucho Bruno, Argentinian-born and based in Australia since 2020, is a musician and producer known for his versatility and creativity. A multi-instrumentalist fluent in guitar, drums, bass, and keys, he seamlessly blends genres through improvisation. His work ranges from composing for film scores to directing music for multidisciplinary performances, often collaborating with visual artists to create immersive, unified experiences.
Closing the night is Abstract Human Radio (Abhura), the live electronic project of Australian producer and artist Fin Wegener. Emerging from underground experimental nights across Australia, Abhuras modular synth performances weave atmospheric ambience, deep trance breaks, and break-driven IDM into hypnotic live sets. Drawing from long-form minimalism, European techno, and improvisational approaches, Abhura crafts a unique exploration of dance and ambient musicalways rooted in the energy of the moment.
