Survival Day Live at Botany View is a curated evening of music and storytelling created in recognition of Survival Day a day that honours the resilience, resistance, and survival of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Hosted by Izzy from Izzy & The Profits, the event brings together four standout acts from across the contemporary First Nations music scene: Naya Maye, The Black Turtles, ChillCheney, and Mia Lovelock.

Headlining the night are The Black Turtles, the legendary Redfern-based band led by acclaimed cultural leader Walangari Karntawarra. Known for their fusion of cultural storytelling, desert rock, and raw rock n roll energy, the band will present the official live debut of their new single Australia their first release since Stand Up in 2023. The performance will also feature new material continuing the bands long-standing message of truth, connection, and change.

The line-up also includes Naya Maye, a Biripi and Gadigal singer-songwriter whose intimate acoustic sound is grounded in honest storytelling and lived experience; ChillCheney the evolved live project of Wiradjuri rapper Lance Cheney delivering a high-impact fusion of hip hop, rock, and emotional urgency alongside vocalist Sahaja; and Mia Lovelock, whose immersive performances blend music with live painting to celebrate culture, sustainability, and creative connection.

Set at Botany View, Survival Day Live is more than a music event it is a space for reflection, resistance, and celebration through sound, story, and community.
