One of Australias most cherished bands, The Badloves, are hitting the road for their vinyl release tour, bringing their signature soulful rock sound to venues across the country including one of Melbournes most loved live music institutions.
The Badloves became a household name in the 90s with their debut album Get On Board.
It spent a massive 69 weeks in the charts, peaked at No. 5, and achieved double platinum sales.
The album produced four hit singles: Lost, Memphis, I Remember, and Green Limousine.
The band received five ARIA Award nominations, winning two for Breakthrough Artist Album and Breakthrough Artist Single (Lost).
Following tours throughout Australia and Europe, they released Holy Roadside in 1995.
It debuted in the Top 15, gained further ARIA nominations, and delivered more hits including Slave, Barefoot Bride, Living Thing, and Caroline.
These tracks cemented The Badloves place as one of the premier acts in Australian music.
Though touring steadily for over 30 years, the bands recording output slowed until late 2019, when they released Soulbrothertruckinsong, their first new single in 17 years.
Theyve since followed it with the compelling single Tribal, which has gained strong radio support. Frontman Michael Spiby shares that the song was inspired by a recurring dream:
I dont usually remember dreams... but I often wake disturbed by this one theme how will I keep my little tribe together in tough times? Am I up to the task? Tribal is my recurring dream, caught in the light of day.
In April 2021, Warner Music reissued Get On Board on vinyl and digital deluxe including unreleased tracks from their 1993 Triple J Live At The Wireless session. The original music videos have also been digitised, with releases staggered from November 30.
To celebrate, The Badloves are embarking on a national Australian tour.
Expect to hear their upcoming single Midnight Sun on radio soon, ahead of a brand-new studio album in 2022.
