The Meanies head to Castlemaine for the first time in yonks with a show at the Bridge Hotel on Friday 31st October, presented by Heaps Normal and Cheersquad! The Meanies are launching their new 7 single Shutdown which comes out October 9. Recorded 25 years ago by Shane OMara at his studio Yikesville, Shutdown' is seeing the light of day for the very first time. Its not your average bear as far as The Meanies usual sound goes but hey, a change is as good as a holiday and they cant afford one of those. On the b-side of the 7 youll find some top Aussies doing a couple of Meanies covers, with Frenzal Rhomb covering the track Play This Song Each Night and Perth punks Leeches! doing a rendition of Scum. Special guests on the night are local heroes RELAYS with Benny J Ward who has a fantabulous debut album Super! out on September 19 doing a cheeky lil solo set to kick off proceedings.
