A Night of Guitar-Driven Music Under the Stars and the Launch of WAs New Guitar Festival.

The York Festival is proud to present TWANG, a bold new live music event bringing a full evening of guitar-powered brilliance to the scenic York Racecourse on Sunday 28 September

Framed by the sweeping views of Walwalling/Mt Bakewell, TWANG promises a laid-back, festival-style atmosphere with food trucks, bars, chill-out seating, and a dance area. Audiences can kick back or kick up their heels to an outstanding line-up of musicians, all united by a deep love of stringed instruments and expressive performance. 

The 2025 TWANG line-up features: 

Scarlets Way Bringing their signature blend of country, blues, and Southern rock to the stage in full band mode, Scarlets Way delivers high-energy, full-hearted performances that have lit up some of Australias biggest festivals. 

Nathan Gaunt & The Sunset Riders Known for his rich, emotive voice and genre-defying songwriting, Nathan Gaunt returns to the stage with his band The Sunset Riders for a powerful set that blends blues, rock, and folk with incredible musicianship. 

Lucky Oceans' New Darling Rangers bring Western Swing with a WA twistupbeat originals and songs of the Pilbara, powered by Grammy-winning energy and local flair. Featuring Louis Rebeiro, Jon Knox-Matthews and David Milroy, this fiery new lineup delivers irresistible rhythm, humour, and heart. Western Swing, reimagined for Western Australia.

More Than a Gig Its a Launch 

This event also marks the official launch of TWANG: The Western Australian National Guitar festival, set to roll out in full in 2026. Curated by WA guitar legends Chris Gibbs and Craig Skelton, the festival will celebrate all genres of guitar music from country and blues to jazz, rock, classical and experimental.
