Content Source: OztixAward-winning, genre-bending Meanjin 8-piece TYDE launch their highly anticipated debut EP 'Red Moon' on 14th Sept at Crowbar.
They have earned a reputation as one of Queensland's best live bands, honing their performance across lineups including Woodford Folk Festival, Brisbane International Jazz Festival and Bluesfets Byron Bay, and have taken out the 2025 QUBE Effect best 'Live Event' Award. 'Red Moon' is a collection of 7 entirely live-recorded songs, brandishing a rich soundscape that ebbs and flows between jazz, prog, pop, funk, and folk. With a truly genre-fluid sound, their intricate arrangements and improvisation sections create an energetic live show that has been described as a "dynamic prog odyssey".
TYDE will have you both grooving to infectious hooks and trying to work out what time signature you're dancing to. Their repertoire calls to mind artists like WILLOW, The Cat Empire, COVET, Hiatus Kaiyote, Vera Blue, and Franz Ferdinand.
Supporting TYDE will be fellow QUBE Effect Finalist Tahnee Rose, and also featured on the last Woodford lineup, Rutherford Jazz Trio.
